We’ve all heard that the times you wake up and are not feeling a workout whatsoever turn into some of the best workouts. Well, that’s how today went.
First 15 miles up to Dallas Center were tough. I simply wasn’t feeling it. I considered calling it early and settling for a 30-miler. But, I couldn’t give in that easy, especially since my goal for today was 50.
So I started to break my long ride into shorter rides. I focused on a few miles at a time and all of a sudden I made it to my halfway point in Perry.
Lucky for me, the wind was at my back for the return trip so that made it a breeze.
There are a lot of things in life that might seem far away, but when we break our big goals into smaller goals and work steadily to achieve them, the big goal won’t seem that far away after all. Just take it one step at a time.
For us, that’s how we’ll reach our mileage goal, our fundraising goal, and ultimately a cure for T1D.
