Are professional development and community engagement on your list of goals for 2022? If you're looking to grow yourself, your network, and your community impact, look no further than the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce. As one of the largest professional organizations in Central Iowa, boasting 700+ member organizations and thousands of business professionals, you'll find bountiful ways to activate your membership and engage with the business community and region at large. Not sure where to start? Here are 3 ways to GROW with the WDM Chamber in 2022.
WDM Leads
WDM Leads is a program designed to create meaningful connections among Chamber members in a recurring small group setting. Each group consists of one representative per industry to provide exclusive lead sharing. The goal of WDM Leads is to help members generate more business and build lasting professional relationships. If you're looking to build your network in 2022, this is one program and group of leaders that you want to join. The program is only $120 for the year and includes access to monthly meetings and a quarterly cocktail reception with other WDM Leads program participants. West YP
Calling all young professionals: this is the group for you! Social events? Check. Professional events? Check. Leadership opportunities? Check. It's not a fluke that West YP is one of the fastest growing young professionals group in the region. Thanks to support from ISU's Ivy College of Business and tremendous vision by the West YP Leadership Committee, 2022 is poised to be the best year yet for hundreds of members - and you can be one of them. Dues for the year are insanely affordable - $60 for WDM Chamber members and $84 for non-WDM Chamber members. That's less than a Netflix subscription and will lead to some personal and professional gains. Learn more and apply here.
Chamber Committees (DEI, Explore WDM, Ambassadors)
Make a difference in the lives of the West Des Moines business community and community at large by serving on one of the WDM Chamber's committees. Interested in working to make West Des Moines the most diverse, inclusive, and accessible communities in the country? Join the DEI Committee and help lead efforts like the Athene Black & Brown Business Summit presented by Wells Fargo, DEI Workplace Excellence Awards presented by Wells Fargo, Mentoring for Women, and other programs designed to foster a more welcoming community.
Or perhaps you're looking to build enthusiasm for residents of West Des Moines through community-fueled opportunities? Look no further than the Explore WDM Committee, a group of leaders focused on positioning West Des Moines as the best city in America to live, work, and play. Heard of Raccoon River Rally? Explore WDM is the committee behind the scenes.
And then there's the Ambassadors committee - the unofficial welcoming arm of the WDM Chamber. These dedicated volunteers are the ones with the highest rate of attendance at Chamber events, welcoming new members at ribbon cuttings, and checking in with our member organizations on a regular basis through member care calls. If you're looking to be a familiar face in the community, consider becoming an ambassador of the Chamber.
