After 6.5 hours of sweat, cramps, water, and pickle juice, crossed the finish line after 101.2 miles of riding! Today was such an impactful day as I rode with hundreds of others - those supporting loved ones with T1D, others who have T1D, and others with no connection to T1D except for their belief in this cause. There are many people to thank for this accomplishment. First, to all the donors who gave to my fundraising campaign, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your generosity means more to Sarah and me than you will ever know. Next, to all the JDRF support staff and volunteers (including Sarah & Michele!) that kept us hydrated and safe on the course, especially coaches from JDRF - Greater Iowa Chapter and beyond who encouraged us along the way. Thank you to my father-in-law, Pat, for recruiting me to Team Greater Iowa. It’s been a treat training with you and the team this summer! And finally, thank you to my wonderful wife, Sarah, for all of your encouragement and love throughout this adventure. You are amazing and I am so happy I was able to complete this ride in honor of you! Cheers to you, La Crosse, WI!
